CmdLineExt.dll - Large delay when right-clicking on broken shortcuts in Explorer |
Right-clicking on a shortcut pointing to a program that has been moved or uninstalled causes explorer to freeze for 15 seconds, after which the context menu may or may not appear. This was found in Windows XP, though it may occur in other versions of Windows as well.
This file is installed with certain versions of Sony's SecuROM copy protection, which is silently installed with certain games. It may attempt to re-enable itself each time the game is run. To find out which game it was installed with, do a search of your drive for other files created on the date.
